About Me

Hi there! I'm Katherine, the Kat behind Kat's Keys to Music Education! I currently teach K - 8 music and band, but I've taught every grade K - 12 in the past. I started selling on TPT in 2021 when I was frustrated with my current job and wanted to channel my energy into something more productive. I love making time saving materials for music and band educators, especially ones in situations like myself where you're teaching a LOT of grades at the same time. I strive to constantly be improving myself as a professional - I recently completed my Orff Level 1 training through the University of Manitoba as the start of my post-baccalaureate diploma.

When I'm not teaching or working on TPT, I love doing crafts and puzzles, and spending time with my partner and our three cats, Pepper, Merry, and Pippin. Pepper is our grumpy old man that my partner rescued years ago, Merry and Pippin are the kittens we adopted together in 2021! Pippin is an extra special cat, she has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia - an underdevelopment of her cerebellum which means her brain has trouble communicating with her legs... and she constantly walks around like a little drunken sailor. We love taking care of our special cats <3
